An elderly single man named Robert 'Wiseman, ail employee of the Waihi Company, while'crossing the railway line, .at Waikino, was knocked down by a 'train. The cow-catcher threw him clear of the line. He sustained severe injuries to the head and body, and was taken to Waihi Hospital, where a,4'ew hours later he'died.
