VICTORIA CLUB'S REPORT. The annual report of the Victoria Club 6ays:—The receipts for the year were £464 13s. 5d., and the expenditure dG-HO l!!s. 2d., and the' 'bank overdraft is ,£4B 19s. sd. There were two active and one conn, try members' subscriptions outstanding at the end of the year—,£B ?s. in all. The club's War Relief Eund now stands at ,£ls'2s. ad.-, having received .£3 16s. Id. in donations and interest since lust report. The subscription to the Red Cross "Our Day," collected on the opening day, amounted to -£6 6s. Eighteen new member's were elected during the season, and one resigned. Tire membership is now 105. The directors.are glad to record that Messrs. Jenkins and Eraser, who went into eamp at the 'beginning of the past financial year, returned after demobilisation, and were able to take part-m the season's play. Great credit is again due to Mr. Holmes for his untiring cure of the green. The new. season's top-dressing and levelling have been done, and there is every encouragement to think that the green will be in as good condition next oeafO'.i as it was in the past one. The billiard tables .have proved to be an exceptional- means of adding to the enjoyment of many members.-particularly during the winter months. Provision is now made io extend the privileges so that the tables may be made available for members' families. The tables are now clear of debt, and the belief ■ expressed last year, that thoy would soon.liecome a source of revenue "to the clii'h, will now be realised. The debts to Messrs. Townsend ami Norwood and Messrs. Bolton and Jladeiey. have been extinguished, so that the tables now. become: an asset of Iho club.. The cash neeeipls for the year have amounted to ,£BS 3s. 7d., and the expenditure to il!3 l'Js.
Owing in some measure to the epidemic, lite attendance of Indies on the green was not so regular as in. former seasons. Thanks are Expressed to the Indies for their services in preparing lea on Saturdays, also appreciation of the pleasure their company always givte to members. As some siiglit recognition of .their kindness, a musical evening was held in September,'when the ladies were the guests of liononr.
The debit balance for the season is 13s. Bd., compared with <£S0 19s. Id. last year.
