CONCESSIONS TO SOLDIERS' ,• FIANCEES.
The Government lias decided to male# substantial concessions to .assist soldiers who are bringing their fiancees from England. These immigrants will not bo assisted to the extent of soldiers' wive?, Imt the Government subsidy represents a reduction of 42G on the passage, 'bringing it within the range of tho soldier, who might otherwise have difficulty in making ail arrangement, for the current rates of pasasge for ordinary travellers are: First class .£B3, second class 465, third class {two-berth (abin) 411, ,or four-berth cabin 439, The reduced rales due to Government assistance, payable in respect to passages nominated through the Immigration Department, are as follow.— SoMiei's' wives: Ist class, 429; -nfl class, 412; 3rd class, two-berth y£9, fourberth 47. ' , „ . Soldiers' fiancees: Ist class, «£o(; 2nd class, 439; 3rd class, two-berth 415, fourberth 413. , , , , , Nominated civilians: Ist class, «£<o; 2nd class, 452; 3rd class, two-berth 428, fourberth 42G. . Tho Ist and 2nd class rates for soldiers' wives apply only to officers and non-com-missioned officers holding the rank or sergeant or higher. All applications should be made to tho Chief Immigration Officer. Immigration Department, Union Chambers, Customhouse Quay, from whom full particulars can bo obtained.
