SALVATION ARMY CONGRESS
Three sessions of-Officers' Councils were hclrl yesterday in the Vivian Street Baptist Church.
Commissioner Howard was in command, delivering a series of addresses of an intensely spiritual and practical nature, enhancing his world-wide reputation in Christian circlrs as a "teacher."
In addition, Commissioner Hodder led spiritual exercises. Brigadier Joy, from the Salvation Army's International Headquarters. under-seorefciry for Salvation Army missionary operations, gave an address of absorbing interest on this sub' iect, also in one session singing a vory acceptable solo of his own composition. Tho popular Ex-Padre Adjutant Bladin snug and spoke te the delight of rill, and many others took an active part in one of t.lio most spiritual sessions of Salvation Army Officers' Councils ever held in New Zealand. ' Those special sessions continue throughout to-day—the ovoning service being open to local officers of the organisation.
