AUCKLAND JOURNALISTS' CASE. , By Telegraph-Press Association. Auckland, June 12. A dispute between tho Auckland journalists and employers, was before the Arbitration Court yesterday . and to-day. After a conference held by order of the Court, Mr. 11.I 1 . Pirani for the proprietors stated that the conference was abortive. He opposed the inclusion of sub-editors and proof-readers, 'also weekly country and monthly papers; It was agreed at the conferenoe to. drop rountiy lapere, the proprietor's concerned statinpr they were not opposed to an award, but objected to -.-inclusion in a city award. The employers offered increases for reporters as follow;— Senior £6 10s., genewls <£5105., second year juniors £i. They opposed the W-hour week asked "by the union. The Hon. J. T. Paul appeared.for the union. The Court reserved its decision.
