In the Supremo Court to-day Henry Lauritz Homes, a young man, was charged with theft of a motor-car, valued nt .E'lOO, also a and overcoats, valued at -I'D 15s. It was alleged that accused took Ihe car from a street in Blenheim and drove to Nelson, and eudeavoured to sell it. The defence was that fHie car was given to accused the same evening by a cattle dealer named Keith "Robinson, who approached him some weeks before, saying he Iliad a motor-car to sell later on. Keith Kobinsnn never materialised. The jury returned a verdict 'that it found it difficult to believe the accused's story, yet the evidence of the Crown had not disproved his story.
