The Waira'rapa Presbyteij- on Tuesday discussed tho proposal for a union of the Presbyterian, Methodist, and Congregational Churches. By the narrow margin of ono vote the proposal was rejected. An invitation from the Palm?rston Chamber of Commerce for the appointment of a. delegate to a conference to discuss the unsatisfactory railway t»rvice between Masterton and Palmerston, has been merely "received"/ by the Master-i ton County Council. Loyal Unity Lodtfo (Foatherston) has nassed the following resolution:—"That application be made to the Board of Directors for the whole available amount from the ledge surplus, after making provision for paying 1\ per rent, thereof to the society's War Members' Belief Fund to be appropriated to the redemption of the future contributions of members. Tho officers were empowered .to complete an agreement with the newly-appointed medical officer (Dr. ,T. A. Doctor).
