Longuet and he (Mr, Macdonald), on behalf of tho Franco-British Socialists, accepted a proposal for a twenty-four hours' striko in sympathy with tho Soviets, and as a protest against the Versailles peace terms. Mr. Mncdonald adds that, he condemned the Italians' tendency to Bolshevism, and recommended them u> join the world Socialist movement a& represented by the second International.— Cable Assn.

He had several times oxhibited at the Academy, and at the time of his death, notwithstanding' liis great age, was engaged on a picture which he intended to submit for the next Academy Exhibition, and on a series of illustrations of the Bible.
