ANNUAL MEETING; OF-WELLING-TON CENTRE. , The annual meeting of the Wellington Bowling Centre was held in the Wei-' lington Bowling Club's pavilion last evening. The president (Mr. W. C. Cooper) occupied the chair, and there \y,os a full attendance of delegates, The annuals report, which has already been published, wus passed without discussion. The election of officers resulted as follows :—President, Mr. G. Hendry (Hataitai. Club); vice-president, Mr. F. Meadowcroft (Kelburn Club); honorary treasurer, Mr. W. H, Morrah (Ly'all Bay" Club); hon. auditor, Mr. J. W. Kinniburgh (Hataitai Club). Before the nominations for members of.the .council ;of the-Dominion; Bowling Association were made Mr. J. Keith (Vic. toria Club) raised the point that as several of the club* Were holding their ' nnnual meeting this month (when such clubs would bo appointing their delegates to the centre), it was only fair that the new delegates should have the opportunity of nominating the delegates to the Dominion Association. He pointed out that tho association's annual meeting was hold in September, and the nominations were not required to be handed in,until four weeks before that meeting. ' ' "■ The secretary (Mr. .T. J. Koberts) pointed out that Mr. Keith wasVwrougly informed; according to tho rules of the association tho nominations had to he in twelve weeks beforo tho animal meeting of the association. Mr. Keiths copy of the rules was out of date. On the motion of Mr. 8. Underwood it was decided to go on with tho order Pi Tho' nominations for the association were as follow:—President, the nominee of the Christclmrch. Centre I: vice-presi-dent, Mr. F. Meadowcroft; for council, Messrs; Tom Gray, Victqf Dimock and Colonel R. J. Collins; treasurer, Christchurch Centre's nominee. It was decided that the executive of the centre be tho delegates .appoimcil by the clubs. , , ... The usual bonus was granted to the secretary of the centre (Mr. J. J. B T Anants end certificates won (n centre competitions during the season were presented to the delegates of the (Napier) attended the Meeting and spoke interestingly on the X t of the levelling of greens. Ho volunteered,'it the, centre thought advisable, to mnko any green-keeper whom (ho centro might appoint his, guest, and demonstrate his methods to; On the motion of Mr. E. J. Hill, a hearty" vote of- thanks was passed to' 'Mr. Smith, whom he was sure was on tho right' lines. Mr. Smith said he had promised the Wellington Club to come down lo Wellington- next April, and level their greens, and he invited all green-keepora and critics to attend the demonstration. At a meeting of tho executive hold alter the ordinary meeting of the centre, it was decided that the npno.mtme'it of secretary (in succession to Mr. Roberts) be. left over until tho next meeting. In the course of a brief discussion, Mr. 1, Meadowcroft proposed that the new «c----retary should be paid a fixed salary, and he should not be the delegate of my club. The name of Mr. S. H. Underwood was freely canvassed for Hie vacant position. Mr. Roberts consulted to continuo the secretarial duties until the next meet-
