COMMITTEE SET UP. TO INVESTIGATE. ' (By Telegraph-Press Association.! Christchurch, June 10. The City Council last night passed the following motion—"That a spocial committee of five he set ni> to investigate and consider i'uUy the coal situation; to consider the advisability or otherwise-of importing coal direct from the mines either by chartering or purchasing fillips for the.purpose; and to consider and rcport regarding the establishing of a municipal coal depot and the retailing of coal for household purposes, or any other 6chemo whereby ]>eonlo' can bo assured of an adequate supply of coul at a renson'ablo price."
