LICENSING POLL
Tho Chief Returning Officer lias received a small parcel-of licensing poll ballot, papers from the transport Devon, and lie will receive the Samoan ballot papers within 'tho next day or two. Ho still lacks tho returns of official counts in three electorates, but _ there is not likely to bo any change in the figures under this heading. The returning officers who have failed to complete their official returns appear to bo trying to account for some absent voters' permits, which probably were not exercised at all. The official announcement of tho result of the licensing poll limy be mado next week.
