AND CONNECTING RAILWAY LINES. (By Teleerapli—Press Association.) Ounedin, June 4. A deputation from the Bruce County Council asked the Hon. W. D. S. MacDonald, as-Minister of Mines,, to suppurt -a petition to be presented to Parliament asking the Government to take action and extend tho Taratu and Kaitangata privately-owned railway lines, and connect them, so as to provide one system for a working coal area which at present puts out 450 tons daily, and with the alterations suggested could put out 3000 tons. At present private companies could block companies to,be formed from carrying the coal.. ' ■ The Minister said a report on the whole coal mines of the Dominion had been prepared, which, with suggestions, would be discussed by Cabinet nest Monday.
