WAGES OF ENGINE WORKERS
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Christchurch, June 2. The Canterbury traction and stationary engine-drivers', firemen, and greasers' dispute was before the Conciliation Council to-day. AYages wore agreed to as foilow: First-class certificated engine-drivers, Is. G>,d. per hour; second-class certificated en-gtne-drivcrs, Is. 5d.; traction drivers, Is. 6\d.; firemen nnd greasers, Is.. 3.Jd.; plus 2ld. bonus nil round. Youth's wages were fixed as follow: 18 to 19 lOd. per hour; 19 to 20s„ Is. Overtime rates and statutory holidays were agreed to, but the question of the annual holiday was held over for further consideration.
