ONE CHILD KILLED AND TWO OTHERS INJURED. By Telegraph—Press Association Palmerston North, May 27. A fatal accident occurred at Bunnythorpo railway crossing this afternoon. A spring cart driven by Ronald Pederson,j son of a widow farmer at Roberts Line, was crossing tho line when the New Plymouth train collided with it. The horso was killed instantly, and the cart was completely wrecked, .lean, the youngest child, aged eight, was decapitated; Alexander, aged fourteen, had his skull fractured ami his left leg was fractured and nearly severed; Ronald, aged thirteen, had his skull injured and thumb fractured; and Phyllis, aged fourteen, was thrown clear. Alexander is not oxpected to recover. The crossing is an open one, in full view. The engine-driver 6ays ho blow tho whistle and the children'tried' to back the horse-off tho line, but were too late.
