FLAXMILLERS WAGES
DELEGATES APPOINTED TO MEET OWNERS. (By Telegraph-Special Correspondent.) Palmerston North, May 26. At a meeting of members of the Manawatu Flaxinills' Employees' Union, for the purpose of considering the position that has arioen through, tho action of tho New Zealand Flaxmillers' Association in giving notice of the cancellation of their agreement with the union fixing wages and general conditions of employment, the proceedings wore taken in committee. As an upshot of considerable discussion a resolution was adopted calling upon all llaxworkers not to resume work for less than lis. per day until tho delegates appointed had met tho flaxmillers in conference. The delegates appointed to wait on tho Flaxmillers' Association wore Messrs. A. Jeffreys, A. C. Hiltier, C. Scott, and P. T. Robinson. Tho secretary Was instructed to arrango a conference with tlin millers for Monday, Juno 2, if possible, for the purpose of drawing up a working agreement.
