DEMAND FOR SUSTENANCE ALLOWANCE. Sydney, May 26. A meeting of stranded New Zealandcrs indignantly condemned the attitude of the New Zealand Government, and decided to send a' cablegram asking the Ministry that a reasonable sustenance allowance should be paid to.people who are forced to remain in' Sydney through tho action <U' tiro Government. ' Sir .Tames Allen cabled the stranded Now ZenlaJidors that provided that the reports of the epidemic continue-to 'bo satisfactory he hopes to arrange to repatriate small batches in a fortnight's time. ■ - ~ ■■ The New Zealanders have replied regretting the vagueness of the promise. They have suggested a. full ship; that the 'passengers next week bo placed under strict medical and quarantine . arrangements for three consecutive days, with an examination before embarking, three dap' quarantine on board in Sydney, ami four days' voyage.
