BRIGADIER-GENERAL RICHARDSON
GREAT RECEPTION AT DUNEDIN. By TelegraDh.—Press Association. Dunedin, May 25. Brigadier-General Richardson arrived here last eyening, aiid was accorded a royal reception. He was loudly cheered at the station, and passed through the ranks of' returned men to a carnage drawn by six artillery Lorsts and driven to the Otago Club, where another enthusiastic reception awaited him. He was carried shoulder high, and the crowd would not be satisfied until lie had given them a short address And promised to 6peak more fully to a gathering of returned men.
' To an "Otago Times" reporter, General Richardson had something to say about the necessity for continuing territorial training on the lines. suggested by tlio experience of the war. On the repatriation problem, Genoral Richardson expressed tlio opinion that the Government would havo to buy up small sections, erect houses, and start n'on in eucli occupations as poultry farming. He also suggested the establishment in each district of a small bureau where men could got information as to how io settle down. His advice to the returned man was "Get into plain clothes as' quickly as possible and get back to work. He appealed to the public for for forgiveness for small delinquencies en the part of men just returned. The miblic should try to realise its indebtedness to the soldier. "Don't offer him "charity. Give him a chance to earn a l'ving. Esptoially is that the case with the disabled man."
