. RESOLUTION' OF pr.OTF.ST. By TeleEraph.--Prest Association. Christchurch, May 23. At a meeting of the North Canterbury brajieh of the New Zealand Hallway-Of-ficers' Institute the following resolution was carried unanimously:—"This branch views'■witli alarm'and Strong disapproval the action in vetoing the unanimous decision of the Appeal Board in the recent-Longton appeal case, 'and that the Minister be respectfully, asked to reconsider his decision: also,- that strong representation be made by .deputation to the Minister and Cabinet. That in all cases of unanimous decisions by 'Hie Appeal Board the Minister should not have the right to exercise his power of veto."
