THE SHOP ASSISTANTS' DISPUTE
By Telegraph—Press Association. Ghristchurch, May 22. Tho Conciliation Council considered the dispute between the retail shop assistants and boot shop proprietors. Consideration of the question of wages was deferred. Payment for casual hands, hours of work, and holidays, and the proportion of apprentices and improvers was agreed upon. A number of other points were deferred.
