What Mr. Guthrie asked was that 'Mr. Massey should impress upon the Imperial authorities that it was absolutely necessary that Now Zealand should hav o shipping at tho rate of not fewer than fourteen insulated steamers per mouth for at least five months ahead. Mr. Guthrie has received most welcome news from Mr. Massey to tho effect that many more, ships are to be provided for Juno loading. ■ . The hews now is that the following vessels will load in New Zealand in June:—Arawa, ulrmagh, Raranga, lua Ora, Whakatane, Carpentaria, l'aparoa, Riniutaka, Pakelm. Devon, Remuern, Suffolk, Shropshire, and Ornri—a total of fourteen ships for one month at any rate. In hie cablegram Mr. Massey states that owing to delays and labour troubles the Mnhnna, Lssex, and Waimaiia, which had bean allocated for June loading, would fall back into July.
