London, March 17. New Zealand beat an England fifteen at Leicester on Saturday, by one goal, one penalty goal, ami one" try (11 points) to one try (three points). A fairly good, although not a representative, side ropre-, eented Englaud, while New Zealand put a very powerful fifteen into the field. It was a fast and interesting game, in spite of the frequent infringement of the rules by the New Zealand "forwards. Although about a do«m free kicks worn awarded to the English Bide they failed to make use of them, but from one of a few penalty kicks against the England side Private J. Stohr opened the scoring for Now Zealand. New Zealand had liiiicii tlio emarter lot of forwards, and their iiandlfng of the bull and their clover footwork turned the game in their favour. Before the interval Private I'ea, at five-eighths, got Wrough, ami Stohr kicked a goal, and F. Gaccon gained a. try for the England side. In the second half, ■which was played in heavy rain, tho English forwards put in some good work, and had tho better of the football for a time.
