A treat in store- for the Prince of Wales was mentioned by the Mayor (Dr. Thacker,, M.P.) to-day at the Mayoral luncheon, when he stated that the sporte. men of Canterbury were looking forward ;, to the visit very!keenly, and he hoped it would be possible to arrange a special afternoon trotting meeting, whioh would . be called the Royal Meeting. ~ Sir Andrew. Russell; referring to tbf> promised visit of the Prince of Wales, said that before the New' Zealand Division left Germany the Prince had come down and spent three daye there, and saw everyone.' Hβ went round to the different brigades and did exactly ns everybody hoped he would do, namely,-,he saw as many of the.meiii and officers as he could, ami thoroughly appreciated his visit. General Russell-added that it had been an enormous advantage to the future King to be able to mix with everybody, both men and officers, of the British, Canadian, Australian, and New Zealand Forces and -others from all oven the Empire. • .. ._ :.-
