I>. PREMIER DECLARES IT TO BE WHOLESOME. (Rec. May 11, 5.5 p.m.) Sydney, May 11. , Replying to the "Sun's" charges regarding tlio 1916-17 wheat, the Premier, Sir. W. A. Holman, in a statement, eays: "While the wheat has deteriorated to some extent, its freshness and' wholesomeness are unaffected. The talk of its being affected by mice and weevils is sensation-mongering. The lower portions of the stock affected by mice is not uscill The British Government has accepted flour 'containing 50 per cent, of this wheat. During the present, week the Ciqve.rnment had test bakings made, and the. analyst reported that the bread mot all requirements oT.the Pure Pood Act." —Press Assn.
