The monthly meeting of the Royal Arch Chapter N0.;4. U-A.O.D, ira s held in the Wellington Town Hall on. Wednesday night, thew being a large attendnnoe Tho Past President, Bro. A. JNo?rh pesided. A telegraphic apology was accented from Bro W J. Pop?. *ho was unable to attend through illness An apology was also'received from tip Grand Treasurer, Bro. J. HJ*nghton, whose attendance was prevented by sickneThoalp°aßt Arch Degree was conferred on ono candidate and the First Degree on three members of the Order. The election of officers resulted as fol-lows-.-Royal' Arch Druid, Bro. P. A. Mollison; Royal Vice-Arch, Bro. A.;,H. Smith; Secretary, Bro. F. G. Portei, Treasurer, Bro. W Crombio; R.A.D. Bards, Bros. W. H. Crank and T..a Sarjcant; B.V.A. Bards. Bros. B. Abel and A. J. Norris; Inside Guardian Bro. W J Pope; Minute Sccretorj,. Jtto. i. Mullins. The installation of Bro Pope had. to be deferred owing to his abs All the other officers were .im^M 1 their respective positions by Past J. real lent Bro C. D. Hnrgreaves, assisted by P.P. Bro. J. Johnston, the ceremony being an impressive one. The Grand President of the Order was present in his official capacity. Dining the course of the evening ho made a •presentation on behalf • of tho chapter ■ of a Past President's jewel to Bro. A. J . Norris, who suitably, acknowledged the token of .tho members' appreciation ot ThT'balance-sheet was received and adopted and flattering references made as to the good work done by the «hr ng Secretary and Treasurer, Bro. Sarjeanl, during the .past eighteen months. Votes of thanks were accorded to Bro. Hargreaves for carrying out the installation ceremony; to. the judges, fortheir work in connection with the recent ritual competition, and to I3ro. u. Couper, of the Northern Oak Lodge, DarEnville, for his visit to.tho chapter. The' G.P., Bro. Flannagan, before retiring eulogised the work dono by the chapter ami made special .reference to £h« pioneering work done by Bro. V. Jv. Bishop, now in Australia, wlio was the promoter of several lodges m the early [lays. Bro. Flanagan congratulated the chapter on the personnel of ifc, officer. a;nd predicted further and .prosperity for the chapter in. the future. ' The GP.. Bro.
