■ OPERA HOUSE. The Royal Comic Opera Co. concluded its season .-at tho Grand. L-Opera'House last night, when "The Pink Lady was staged before a very large .audience. 4mong those present was a nunitier or soldier patients from the military hospital at Miramar, who were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Firth. ■ • , _ king's"theatre. At the King's Theatre the last screening of "The Safety'Cnruin/'- starring Norma Talmadge as Puck, will take place to-night. Commencing at to-mor-row's matinee, particular interest attaches to tho first appearance ot tlie English eoprano Miss Carrie Lnnceley and her Melody Maids. The star-pic-ture item will be the reappearance of Tom Moore and Madge Kennedy in a Goldwjn masterpiece, "The Kingdom of Youth." The eettinge, story, -p 01 0: graphv, and dresses are said to be f.n that "can possibly be . desired. Strong supports are promised. The lungs orcheltra will play as the entr'acte 'The Gondoliers." An evenißg's entertainment of excel tional merit has been arranged for tn King's Theatro next week, comniencmi to-morrow at the matinee. In additiot to the star picture, "The Kingdom oi Youth," featuring Tom Moore aud Madge Kenned}', Miss Carrie Lancdey, the-bril-liant Soprano, and her Melody Maids will appear. Speaking of these artists, the Auckland "Star" says: "A charming concert in miniature is presented by three delightful musicians Jed by Miss Carrie Lanceley, a sweet-voiced soprano who brings a wealth of wonderful melody to songs beloved by ali. After the 'Jewel Song , (Faust), which showed well her rare gifts, she brought hidden music from such things as 'Comin' Through the Eye/ 'Love's Garden of Koses, 'Laddie in Khaki,' and 'Dear Little Shamrock. , Mies Doris Struble, pianist, Miss Ava Symone, violinist, and Mise Nellie Simpson, flautist and 'cellist, made a delightful trio for 'Golden Bells' (Eae), and the dainty pianist was very successful with h'er characterisation of an hysterical, sobbing child. Miss Symone played 'Allegro ilaeetro' from the ninth concerto- by Do Beriot, with encqnes, and Miss Simpson's eolo numbers were 'Graceful Dance , and 'Loin Du Bal. EVERYBODY'S THEATRE. ' The popular photodrama "The Answer," with Alma Rubens in the leading part, will 1» finally screened , at Everybody's Theatre this evening. Commencing to-morrow, "The Apostle of Vengeance" will be shown with W. S. Hart in the lead. This is a story of the mountains and of a family vendetta. , .
'EXJPRESS THEATRE. To-night will see the final screening at the Empress Theatre of the AVorld foature entitled "Merely Players," starring Kitty Gordon, Muriel Ostnche, and Johnny Hines. At the change of programme commencing to-morrow a Triangle feature drama, "Cassidy, will be
the principal attraction. It is said to be the finest picture yet produced, by Trianglo, and according to American critics the acting surpasses anything yet ■witnessed on the screen. Dick Russon portrays the leading role, that of an outcast waif, and is said to give a perfect conception of the part. The climax is said to be one of the moat gripping ill all screen drnma. In addition will be shown a rollicking Keystone comedy, "Wronged by Mistake," Pathe News, and other items. Mr. C. Melvin will sing "When the Great Red Dawn.is Shining.
PROFESSOR BARRADEN. A very large audienae is expected at the Grand Opera House to-morroiv night, when Professor Barraden, hypnotist, will give his farewoll entertainment. An entirely new.list of tests will be submitted, one of the best being The Hypnotic Buckjumpera." In this test the .subjects are given barrels, and whilst under the professor's control they imagine they are .mounted on. buckjumpere. Their antics are said to_ be very laughable. Another comical test is one in which the subjects are led to believe they are blacksmiths and horses, and tho endeavours of the smiths to shoe the "horses" is provocative of nracli mirth. The box plan is at the Bristol, and ie reported to be filling, rapidly. Tho big attraction is for one night only.
