SKETCH EXHIBITION
A visit to the Art-Gallery to view the collection of sketches now'on the walls should stimulate prido of art and pride of native land. New Zealand has scenic resources, tho beauty of which is un\ surpassed, and which atmospheric condi--lions provide endless material for .the artist's brush. Tho unusually large number of sketches now on (ho Academy walls show many varying interpretations of picturesque spots and local ' colour. The atmospheric brilliancy, such as wo get so frequently in New Zealand, has, in many works, been transferred to paper and canvas in quite a masterly way. Wide interest is being takon iii the exhibition, and numerous pictures' have already been selected by art lovers} The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m., and in t'io evening from 7.30 to 9.30 o'clock. The public art union, in which tho admission charge of Is. includes a ticket, will be drawn on Saturday at the close of the exhibition.. '
