LICENSING POLL
VOTING ON THE REMUERA. Yesterday the Minister of Justice (Hon. T. M. Wilford) announced the result of tho voting on the licensing issue on board the transport Remuera. Tile votes of the soldiers on this ship were distributed as follows:— Continuance 389 Prohibition 67 Majority for continuance 322 CIVILIAN VOTES. Tho latest amended totals of civilian votes arc as follow:— \ Continuance 231,985 ' Prohibition 245,545 Majority {or prohibition 13,569' The following amended returns have boeji received:— Wellington Suburbs: Continuance, 3282; prohibition, 3445; majority for prohibition, 163. Selwyn: Continuance, 2818; prohibition, 2193; majority for continuance, 624! TOTAL VOTES. ' The totals of the civilian and military votes are now as follow-:— Continuance 259,881 Prohibition 252,556 Majority for continuance 7,325
