Mr. Ryan (Premier of Queensland) las returned to Loudon after a visit to tho devastated areas and the Australian troops. Bad weather prevented the mail steamer leaving Ostenn, and he travelled in ii destroyer from Dunkirk. Ho considers that 'the Socialist Conference did much -useful work. Mr. Ryan tho resolutions in favour.of the League of Nations, and interfering with the tariffs, and also the making of regulations endangering the idea of a Wliilj Australia. Mr. Ryan left tho conference before it reached tho resolution favouring the restoration of tho German colonies. Mr. Ryan will return early next week aboard' the Kaisar-i-lnnd.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
