Mr. Justice Edward 6 and Mr. Justice Hosking are both indisposed and have been so for the past two days., At last evening's meeting of the Wellington Rugby Union, the chairman (Mr. W. F. Hornig) expressed tho regret of the union ut the death of Mr. J. M'Boan, and it was decided to send a letter of condolenco to the relatives of the deceased. . Mr. P. Verschaffelt. has vacated the position of secretary to the Public Service Commissioners to take an important position in the Public Trust .Office. Before leaving, he was the recipient of presentations from the Commissioners and from the staff. The presentations were accompanied by expressions appreciative of the work done by Mr. Verschaffelt while in the Commissioners' office, and sincere good wishes for his success in his new post. Mr. C. A. Lawrence, the rep;esentative of the Institute of Architects elected to take the place of Mr. A. Atkins on the Technical Education Board, took his place at the meeting of that body last night. Ho was welcomed by the chairman and members. Reference was made r.t the meeting of the Technical School Board to the death of Mr. A. Atkins, a member of the board, representing the Institute of Architects. The chairman (Mr. G. Frost) gpoko of the esteem in which members had held Mr. Atkins, whose counsel had always been valued by all of them. It was agreed- that a letter conveying the condolences of members of the board with her in her bereavement be forwarded to Mrs. Atkins. The late Mr. J. RiddaH, who met his death through a fatal accident on April 26, was tho eldest stepson of Mr. James M'Kay, late of Coromandel Street, Newtown." Deceased was a member of 53rd N.C.O. Class, N.fr.E.F., and was in camp when tho armistice was signed. Mr. A. L. Stevenson, manager of the Waikato Shipping Company, is on a business visit to' Wellington.
