CHRISTCHURCH ELECTION By Telegraph—Pres3 Association. Christchurch, April 30. The Cliristcbnrch Mayoral election resulted :-Dr. . Thack'er, M.P. (Canal League), 5948; J. J. Dougall (Citizens' Association),' 5747 ; J. M'Combs, M.P. (Labour), 2306. The following were elected for the Christchurch City Council:—Central Ward: Nioholls, Harper, M'Kellar, J. 0. Jameson, Agau, Flesher (all Citizens' Association). Sydenham Ward: Burgoyne, Armstrong, Langley (all Labour), Peek (independent). Linwood: Hertert, Sullivan, Hunter (all Labour). St. Albans: Beanland, Andrews, 'Williams (Citizens' Association). The Labour Party Rains one scat on the council. Mr..E. J. Howard, one of the most prominent Labour representatives in Christchurch, was defeated. DUNEDIN. Dunedin, April 30. Raymond, solicitor, the' present DeputyMayor, was elected unopposed, the Mayor i (Mr. J. Moling) not standing. Tho poll on tho proposal to change the half-holidaj from Thursday to Saturday evoked great interest, ■ omployars anil most of the older omplojees opposing the change in the interests of country customers, for whom Saturday is market day. The results are likely to be very late. At Geraldino the sitting Mayor (Mr. B. E. Mac Donald) was re-elected. Oamaru, April 30. Oaniarn Mayoralty:—James MDiarmid (ex-councillor), 848; W. H.
