FIVE CASES OF INFLUENZA

' ON STEAMER MANUKA FROM SYDNEY. Five cases of influenza developed aiiong the crew of the intercolonial steamer Manuka, which arrived in the stream from Sydney on Monday evening. The Health authorities immediately placed the ship in quarantine and removed the patients, together with contacts, to the quarantine station on Somes Island. In faci, the whole of the crew, with the exception of a few hands, have been placed on the island. All the cases are reported to be mild, and there is no sign of the pneumonio type of influenza. There aro no passengers on the Manuka. The vessel will remain in the stream indefinitely.
