CAMPS VISITED BY SENATOR .' PEARCE. London, 24. Senator -Pearce visited fije camps at Salisbury Plain and witnessed tho firrival of fivd quotas, each of a thousand men, from Franco.' Ho addressed each quota, explaining the demobilisation and repatriation schemes. He.also , had an opportunity of investigating complaints, and found them to be very few, and all of a minor character. The health of tho men is excellent, and their huts mid cooking arrangements are very good.. Senator Pearco explained that any delay in sending .back the men. was due to tho lack of shipping. The Australian De. mobilisation Department could havo filled more ehips if the British .Government had been able to provide them.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
