INFLUENZA IN AUSTRALIA
POSITION IN NEW SOUTH WALES IMPROVED. (Eec. April 27, 5.5 p.m.) Sydney, April 27. The week-end influenza position _is somewhat easier. There is a growing hops that the climax, so far as the-' metropolitan area is concerned, mny have passed. Both fhe number of ca6es and the number of deaths hnvo materially decreased. In tho country, however, the diseaso continues to spread, somo towns suffering severely. ■ . In Victoria the position tends to improve, though, tho daily death roll is still considerable. In South Australia ond Tasmania tho diseaso continues to claim a number of victims. The Queensland authorities are taking tho strictest precautions, and so far have kept the influenza confined to visiting shipping.l'ress Assn.
