MILITARY REGULATIONS
THE TRAINING O.F OFFICERSSome amending regulations relating to the training and the ictiremeiit of officers of the New Zealand military forces are published in the Gazette. They include the following rules:— "Officers on the Reserve of Officers will be called upon to perform -such annual training as may from time to time be laid down by the -General Officer Commanding. Should any officer neglect to carry out this annual training his name will be removed from the Reserve of Officers. "The commission of an officer on the Reserve of Officers who is fit for military service, but who neglects to serve when recalled for duty, shall be eancellcd. "Every officer and soldier of the Territorial Force will be required to carry out annual training in camp as prescribed in paragraph 247. Attendance at a hospital or other selected institution (for NX M.C.), in defence works, or at manoeuvres may be counted as annual trainling in camp. Officers of the Unattached List. will be" called up to perform such annual training as ; may from time to time be laid down by the General Officer Commanding. Should any officer fan to carry out 'this annual training his. commission will be ■".uncoiled. "An officer. of the Territorial Force shall be liabl? to bo summarily dismissed from the Defence Forces at any time for misconduct. ■ . "Art officer of the Territorial l'orce may be required to resign his commission if he is— ' , , , "1. Absent without leave for more than three menths; ' "2. Unsatisfactorily reported on in two successive years; '*3, Found to be medically unfit • ■ "Any officer required \o resign his commission on the ground of being unsatisfactorily reported on may, , within ono month of being so required, appeal, and such appeal will be forwarded for.consideration by.. tt. board of officers nominated for that nurpose by the General Officer Commanding. If after three months of. being so required to resign, or in tho cane of appeal after three months from the promulgation of the decision of tho board of officers, any-officer so required to resign neglects or refuses to do so, his commission shall he cancelled under Section 5 (;»X o/ the Defence Act, 1909." , ■
