Inquiries Show that Landau, accused of the murder of several women, is an educated man, possessing diplomas of science and literature, and ia well supplied with money. Besides his villa he had two houses near Paris, and a flat in Paris with two garages, which ho used in his fraudulent traffic, He lias a wifo and four children, has used a dozen aliases, and has served various terms of imprisonment. The police discovered a package in one of the garages in which were ten envelopes, each containing tho name, date, photograph, and lock of the hair of each of his supposed victims, including the three known to bo missing. Neighbours at various times noticed bonfires in the gardens of Landau's houses, where heaps of cinders, a blood-stained cord, and a mattress and other Inculpatory ovidenco have been discovered.--Aus.-N.Z.
