WHO WAS TO BLAME?
' WHEN THE GOEBEN ESCAPED. London, April IG. Commander Bellajrs, in tho House of Commons, demanded publication of the findings of the court-martial on ViceAdmiral Troubridge in reference to the escape of the Goeben. Ho read an extract from the findings, aud said that Vice-Admiral Troubridge's oonduct was governed by the Admiralty order, imperatively pointing out the necessity of avoiding being brought to battle by a superior enemy. The Goeben was faster than Vice-Admiral Troubridge's armoured cruisers, and her guns could easily outrange theirs. Therefore the Admiralty was responsible, and the oourtTinartial found that in view of the Admiralty instructions Vice-Admiral Troubridge should bo fully and honourably acquitted. —Aus.-N.Z.
