FRANCE'S SHARE OF THE INDEMNITY
SWALLOWED UP; BY COMMITMENTS (Roc. April 21, 8 p.m.) Paris, April 18. The. special correspondent of the Australian l'ress Association reports that/M. Loucheur, in a statement to the Radical group of deputies, declared that the restoration o{ the devastated areas would cost seventy ; iive million francs. The ponsion funds would amount to" forty millions, and the separation. allowances would account for tho remainder of Franco's share, of indemnity. M. Loucheuii apparently does . not expect compensation for the business losses which are included in the Reparations Commission's categories of damages due from Germany. The correspondent adds: "I am unable to ascertain definitely whether President Wilson accepted the business losses in the final approved categories. The dominions' ' delegates seem uncertain, but are pessimistic. An American correspondent, in close touch with' American Headquarters, includes in liis list of approved categories tho loss to labour through the stoppage of industries, damage to property, including shipping, and the loss of capital through tho stoppage of industries."—United Service. BELGIUM'S SHARE. (Rec. April it, 9.10 p.m.) • Paris, April 17. It is understood that, Belgium will receive six hundred millions indemnity out of the first thousand millions. The remaining portion will be divided among the Allies, France receiving 55 per cent. —AuSj-N.Z. Cable Assn.
