QUEER STORY OF REACTIONARY INTRIGUE STAGE REVOLUTION IN BAVARIA. London, April 14. The Berlin correspondent of the "Daily Chronicle" reports that the whole of Northern Bavaria, except Hof, is now in the hands of Hoffman's Government, whose troops are standing on the Danube. A serio-comedy was revealed in Munich, where the Government's troops on Saturday, brought about the fall of the Bavarian Soviet Republic. It transpires that the revolution was a put : up job engineered by Bavarian and Prussian Conservatives,' who used sham Socialists and Communists as agents-provocateurs. Tho plotters aimed at causing a maximum- state of confusion in Germany, with the view of making the fulfilment of the peace-conditions, especially the financial proposals, impossible. The pnmary motive of the Bavarians was to separate from the rest of Germany, hoping to secure more favourable terms of peace. Hopeless internal differences, coupled with Hoffman's military . coup, shattered the scheme and plunged Bavaria into oivil war. The ex-King of Bavaria has applied for sanctuary in Switzerland.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
