MAGISTRATE'S COURT

Captain Hennah and Mr. J. W. Ellison. J.P.'s, presided over a brief Bitting of the Magistrate's Court on Saturday. Three first offenders for drunkenness wero convicted and discharged, and two others were i'mcd 10s. each. A prohibited immigrant, named Mahommcd Ali, was remanded till April 26 on a charge of being drunk and disorderly. Ali came aßhore from. his ship some days ago in-order to undergo hospital treatment, and was not discharged until after his boat had sailed. Whilst waiting for another vessel ho got very drunk, and oreated'a disturbance when arrested. The Court decided that Ali should bo placod aboard should a vessel bb; available before the expiration of a week. A fine of £H was imposed on a soafaring man named John Eimrade, who was charged with committing an indecent act. ■William Dennehy was remanded till today to answer a chargoof having foiled to provide adequate maintenance for bis wife. .
