UNREST IN EGYPT
ACTIVE SEDITION. Cairo, April 11 Intimidation, with a tendency to , fanaticism, continues in Egypt, and arrangements are being made to bring some'of the women and children from tnc danger zone to England. Mobile columns are moving on the Dolta. The centre cf sedition is in the Elaliad Moslem Univoreity in Cairo. The Egyptian police thus far have not been affected, bnt seditious articles in the native Press are having an effect.-Aue.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
GOOD STROKE BY ALLENBY POPULAR DEMONSTRATION. (Rec. April 17, 1.10 a.m.) Cairo, April 12. General Allenby's announcement of the release of Said' Pasha and other deportees who had been interned at-Malta, led to enthusiastic demonstrations in Cairo and Alexandria, recalling Mafeking night in London. All classes of Egyptians paraded the streets, singing, dancing, and shouting "Vive l'Angleterre!" "Vive Allenby!" An unfortunate incident occurred in the Opera Square at Cairo, when the mob came into collision with British soldiers. There were several casualties, inoluding two eoldiers, who wero . wounded.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
