Kemp, representative of the Auto Machine Manufacturhi!; Oompniv. ndvocnted the protection of the nail-makinj industry by an increase of duty on imported nails'. Fe slated that U 1917 two thousand tons of nails were imported of a value of J51.406. The Taumnrunui Unofins, Tile nnd Brick Company suggested a duty of 2s per ewt. on tiles.
