SUBSTANTIAL DEDUCTION ANNOUNCED. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Com pany made public yesterday the contents of a cnblegram from London to the effect that a substantial reduction had been decided upon in the passage money between New Zealand and England and vice versa. The reduction is approximately 20 per cent, off the present first and second class fares only, and will coma into force at once. It applies to passengers booked to travel by the Athenie, which will leave Wellington at the end of next week. Thero is no reason to believe that' a reduction will ibe made in third-class fares.
