AIR FORCE ADVISER
THE OFFICIAL APPOINTMENT. It is announced officially that Lieuten' ant-Colonel A. V. .Bettington, C.M.G., Eoyal Air Force, has been appointed Air Force Adviser to the New Zealand Government, and granted the temporary i' of colonel while so employed. < Major A. de B. Brandon, D.5.0., M.C., has been appointed staff officer to the Air Force Adviser. The Eev. D. C. Bates, Government Meteorologist, is temporarily attached to the Department of the Chief of the General Stall for meteorological research in connection with the j air service, and will hold the honorary rank of lieutenant-colonel while so employed.
