At the monthly meeting of the Wellington branoh'of tho Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants held on Fi'i(lav last tho following resolution was carried: "That the members strongly disapprove of the schedule of wages and conditions put forward by the Department, and accepted liy the executive, The.y also strongly support the resolutions passed by other branches favouring a Dominion conference of delegates from branches." 1 It is understood Hint the executive is meeting to consider its position. An examination in home nursing was held on April 7 under the auspices of llu! St. John Ambulance, Petone Central Division. Dr. Mirnmq was the instructor to the class, and Dr. Boss the examiner. The following were successful in passing the examination in the order of merit: Mrs.'A. Faslani, Miss E. Brockleliank. Mrs. A. Mncomish, Mrs. N. Gliding, Mrs. L. Monks, Miss T. Walton,'Miss M NewlnniK Mrs. D; Hill, Mrs. T'l. Bowden. nml Mrs. H. Shnrpe M(equal). Mrs. A. Gibson, Mm. K Cress I ,veil (pQunl). Mrs. M. Christie, Miss A. fox, Miss I. Forest (equal). The fifteen indies who sat for the examination were successful in passing.
