At the inquest on the death of Alfred' M'Lean, a returned soldier, who was found poisoned in Southland; Hospital on April 3, the evidence of his wife was that 6iuce his return from the war lie had spoken of taking his life because he had contracted an incurable disease abroad. She stated that a bottle of poison was in the pocket of his tunic in the bathroom, and the deceased got it from there.
