MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS
.A public raeelhig of the Wellington Citizens' Electors' Association is to ba held in tho Masonic Hall, Boulcott Street, this evening to further the candidature of the association's ticket, which is headed by Mr. W. H. P. Barber for the Mayoralty. Mr. Barber is to address the electors at the Concert Chamber on Wednesday evening of this week. Mr. T. S. Weston, a candidate for the' Mayoralty, is to address the electors at the Town Hall to-morrow evening.
Mr.- S. (i. Nathan is to address the electors at the club-room, Wadcstov.-n, to-morrow evening. Nominations for the Mayoralty and fifteen councillorships of the Wellington City Corporation close with tho Returning Officer (Mr. James Ames) at noon on Saturday next, April 19. Nominations for the Mayor and nina councillors for tho Borough of Petono will close on Wednesday, April 23, at noon.
Nominations for one member of the Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board will close at the 6ame time with the Returning Officor (Mr. W. J. Gardner). Mr. W. H. P. Barber, candidate for the Mayoralty, will address the electors in the Concert Chamber, Town Hall, on Wednesday evening. Mr. Thomas Bush, who was approached by an influential deputation and asked to allow himself to lie nominated for the City Council, has definitely decided not to stand.. He considers that there are moro than enough candidates in the field already, and any addition to,the number will only make confusion worse confounded. i
