WELSH STATUE OF THE PREMIER
Mr. Owen Jones, .T.P., of Glaubeuno, Carnarvon, has expressed his intention to present the town of Carnarvon with a statue of the Prime Minister as a tribute to the place filled by Mr. Lloyd George in the life of the Empire and of the Welsh nation in particular, and to perpetuate his close association vi(h the borough and the district, Mr. Jones baa commissioned Sir Goscoinbe John, h.A., to execute a statue, with instructions that 110 expense is to be spared. This proposed statno will be the first to be erected, it is believed, in honour of the Premier. The town of Carnarvon already possesses a fine statue of the lalo Sir Fugli Owen, a pioneer of Welsh education. Both the Premier and Mr. Jones are amongst the few honorary freemen of the Borough of Carnarvon. The donot is a well-known Cnlvinistic Methodist.
