SCHOOL STATIONERY
GOVERNMENT CENTRAL STORE PROPOSED. Dy Telcgraoh-Pn'ss Association. Christchurch, April i. Tho Canterbury Education Hoard today received a letter from the Education Department reporting that the Minister had under consideration tho question of tho establishment of a central store for tho purchase of school stationery, etc. The following resolution was carried:— "That the board has had this matter under consideration curing the period of tho war, and has now arrived at the stage of carrying out the proposal to establish its own s.tore and supply at wholesale' prices lo children. In the meantime it cannot, thereforo, favour the establishment of a Government central otore."
