Compulsory Greek expired at Cambridge University on January 17 without any signs of popular excitemont, though the Senate House was fairly lull. Mr. Lawson's final appeal for postponement of tho question till next Term, when he expects that Class 111 (Students and Teachers) will be released, was answered briefly by tho President of Quocns'. In this ho recorded his conviction that tho great mass of tho Senate had made up their minds, though, ho added, in some cases with 'keen regret," a statement that was borno out by the voting, which was 162 for abolition and 14 against.
