HOUSE OF COMMONS ON SERVICES BILL. (Reo. April 1, 7.15 p.m.) London, March 31. There was a long and bitter debate ia the House of Commons on the motion lor the third reading of the ■ Services Kill. The Labour members charged the Government with a breach of its pledge to abolish conscription and embarking on a mad race for armaments. Mr. Churchill (Minister for War) defended the Government's policy, which was only designed to maintain sufficient troops to reap tho fruits of the Allied, victory. The motion for the rejection of the Bill was negatived by 282 votes to 64.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. PERILOUS TIMES. (Rec. April 2, 1.45 a.m.) London, March 31. The House of Commons, by a large majority, rejected the Liberal amendments to the Conscription Bill.
